About Us

Jenny - Polyphonics Founder and Admin (she/her)

Jenny loves to sing with her friends and fondly remembers one party where her talented friend (and now Choir Director), Rosa played songs at the piano while everyone stood nearby and sang along.  Jenny wanted more of that and decided to launch Polyphonics in 2023 to create a space for everyone and anyone who wants to sing!  Jenny realised her wonderful polyamorous community was full of other people who liked to sing and decided to make the choir specific to this community and its allies.

Rosa - Co-founder and Choir Director (they/them)

Rosa is an actor musician, musical director and singer. Since they were a toddler, sitting on their dad’s shoulders while he conducted his socialist choir, Rosa’s greatest love has been singing. They were involved in every singing group at school, including a barbershop quartet, and was also a member of the City of London Chamber Choir. In 2018, they graduated from the Actor Musicianship course at Mountview and went on to become an experienced vocal coach, often applying the Estill Voice method when they teach. Since 2019, Rosa has been the singing coach at Shene Stage School in South-West London.

Rosa’s theatre credits include The Great Gatsby, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cabaret (West End revival), Much Ado About Nothing (Shakespeare’s Globe), The Jungle Book (Theatre on Kew), Peter Pan (Alban Arena), Rapunzel and the Rascal Prince (Production Exchange) and Brass (Union Theatre).

Rosa is also a passionate musical director and has received critical acclaim for their MD work over the years. Most recently, they arranged and musically directed the cabaret show Savoy! Everybody’s doing it (Phoenix Arts Club). Other shows include The Comedy of Errors (Theatre of Verulamium), Blitz! (Union Theatre) and After Dark (Finborough).
